STOW Ready for Pilot

The STCIC has commenced the pilot of the Safe TO Work (STOW) programme and will select thirty (30) energy service providers as beneficiaries of grant funds to be utilized towards certification to the STOW Minimum health, safety and environmental (HSE) Requirements.

On the one hand, the 30 service providers will get advice from our Independent Assessors on how to implement the STOW Minimum HSE Requirements and will be assessed for conformance to the requirements.  On the other hand, our Independent Assessors will be afforded the opportunity to test the STOW certification system and recommend improvements to the STOW Implementation Board.

A Procedural Manual for the pilot is available on this website and outlines how the pilot will be implemented. Service providers interested in the pilot must read the Procedural Manual.
We have also developed an online STOW Self Check HSE Management System Questionnaire which allows energy service providers to gauge the extent to which they are compliant to the STOW Minimum HSE Requirements, at the different level of certification. Instructions to assess the Questionnaire are also available on this website.

Service providers who are not eligible to participate in the pilot but whose HSE Management systems are already compliant to the STOW Minimum HSE Requirements are encouraged to be assessed for certification.

For more information on the STOW Minimum HSE Requirements, service providers can review the STOW Minimum HSE Requirements Contractor Guidance Manual which outlines best practices for achieving compliance to the STOW requirements; as well as the STOW Administration Manual which gives details of the STOW tiered certification structure.
